Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: a Management Dilemma

Abstract

A 24 years old married female presented with inability to conceive for 3 years. She has history of irregular cycles, increased hair growth, acne and weight gain for last 6yrs.

She has a BMI of 29.43and has hirsutism with Ferriman Galway Score of 13. A diagnosis of Polycystic ovarian syndrome was made. The clinical variants, diagnostic criteria, link with insulin resistance and possible management options are discussed in detail.
